Acting on a tip-off, troops of 12 Mahar Regiment and police launched a joint operation at Rajakhat Gaonbetna killing Laxman Basumatary on the spot.
The security forces recovered two grenades, a pistol, an AK-series rifle, two daggers and some detonators from the slain militant.
