In an email to the media here, NDFB(R) Information and Publicity Secretary B Naijab said the outfit will try to resolve all long standing political problems of the Bodo community through "political negotiation".
Naijab claimed the outfit is not involved in sending extortion demands to people, as reported by sections of media in Bongaigaon district of Assam.
He claimed such reports are misleading and are made with an attempt to derail the peace process between NDFB(R) and the Union government.
Naijab said some "fake" people are trying to extort money using the name of the outfit.
He said during the peace process the, NDFB(R) will stay away from extortion and kidnapping.
