Four persons, two linkpersons of the Sangbijit faction of National Democratic Front of Bodoland and two suspected NDFB cadre, were arrested with arms from Sonitpur district of Assam, police said.
The NDFB linkpersons, one of them a woman, was arrested from near the Kolia Bhomora bridge, about eight km from here.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Gitanjali Doley, who led the operation, said the two accused - Jotin Nazari (55) and his wife Putuli (50) - were travelling from Dimapur in Nagaland to Biswanath Chariali via Tezpur on a bike.

"The consignment was supposed to be handed over to a woman in a remote area in Sonitpur," Doley said.
The duo's son-in-law Jawaharlal Musahari was earlier working for the militant group and got injured during an encounter with security forces in 2010.
In another arrest in the district, two suspected NDFB cadres -- Mohash Baghoar (20) Sunil Bormohalia (19) -- were apprehended in a joint operation of the police and Army from Rangapara town last night.
The security personnel recovered one country-made gun along with three rounds of ammunition from the cadre.
