NDFB(S) militant with huge quantities of explosives nabbed

A NDFB(S) militant has been apprehended and huge quantities of explosives recovered from his possession in Assam's Chirang district today.

Acting on a tip off, a joint team of the Army and police nabbed the militant from Shimlabagan village of the district and recovered 12.5 kgs of TNT explosive from his possession, a defence spokesman said.

The militant has been identified as Milan Basumatary alias Khununga.

In another joint operation by the police and Army, two United People's Liberation Army (UPLA) militants along with two other linkmen have been apprehended from the Dilai area in Karbi Anglong district last night, the spokesman said.
 

The UPLA cadres have been identified as Ronard Momin and Singsang Nehang, while Nokjir Timung and Rajkumar Rajbongsh have been identified as the UPLA linkmen.

One 7.65 pistol along with some ammunition and some documents have been recovered from their possession, he added.
