NDMC announces athletics championship for disabled in Delhi

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has decided to institute an athletics championship for the disabled people of the national capital.

The civic body has invited entries from visually impaired and orthopedically challenged students in the age group of 11- 14 years under junior category and 15-18 years under senior category for the athletics meet to be held form October 11 to 13.

"With an aim to promote physical and sports activities among the divyang students of Delhi we will organise an athletics meet from October 11-13 this year at Talkatora Stadium," NDMC chairman Naresh Kumar said today.

"The Special Para Olympic Federations and organisations which have been affiliated and registered with the Sports Authority of India and the sports ministry will be involved in the event," he said.
