NDMC Commissioner suspends sanitary inspector

A sanitary inspector of Alipur area of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation has been suspended for alleged dereliction of duty, the civic body today said.

Accompanied by civic officials, Municipal Commissioner P K Gupta yesterday conducted an inspection of Alipur area of Ward No. 3 to check sanitation and desilting of drains.

Gupta inspected the polyclinic, veterinary hospital, mini stadium/sports complex, a municipal school and other areas of Alipur.

He directed the officials of the hospital administration to improve the services at Polyclinic and Engineering Department and to improve facilities at the Alipur mini stadium, so that young and upcoming players can avail the services available there, a senior NDMC official said.
 

During the inspection, vacant plots were found filled with garbage and smaller drains were not cleaned properly, following which the Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioner to suspend the sanitary inspector of the area for dereliction of duty, it said.
