NDMC demolishes illegal portions of 21 properties

The North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has demolished illegally-built portions of 21 properties and sealed three of them in areas falling under its jurisdiction, the civic body said today.

"Taking stern action against illegal constructions, we demolished illegally-developed portions of 21 properties and sealed three properties in Sadar Paharganj and Rohini zones," NDMC said in a statement.

In Sadar Paharganj Zone, two properties were sealed in Azad market area, while another is in Gali Samoshan. The demolition drive took place in several areas of the zone including Pul Bangash, Chuna Mandi and Karol Bagh.

In Rohini Zone, six illegal properties were demolished in areas including Pitam Pura, Nagloi and Rani Bagh.
 

The action has been taken to check the tendency of unauthorised construction, it said, adding that the demolition drive was carried by the engineering department, with the help of local police.
