NDMC gears up for mega Yoga day event

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), in collaboration with the AYUSH Ministry, is organising the second International Yoga Day on June 21, with 10,000 people participating in the mega event.

"Yoga day will be organised on June 21 at Connaught Place and its six radials and inner circles, roads along with three gardens of Lodhi garden, Nehru Park and Talkatora Garden. As many as about 10,000 participants will be performing the common yoga protocol," NDMC Secretary Chanchal Yadav told reporters.

The diplomats will participate in yoga programme at Nehru Park. Union Minister for Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu will be the chief guest, Lt. Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung and New Delhi MP Meenakashi Lekhi will also participate in the event.
 

Volunteers from organisations like Patanjali Yoga Peetha, Art of Living, Maa Shakti, Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vidyalaya, Dev Sanskriti University Haridwar (Gayatri Pariwar), Moraji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), Delhi Police, NDMC, CISF, CRPF, BSF, ITBP, Walking Volunteers, General Public, VVIPs and VIPs would perform yoga on the occasion.

"Other attraction of the yoga event would be activities such as demonstration on wheel chair, Trisha Kali Martial Art by CISF, and cultural programme by blind students," Yadav said.
