A note has been recovered from the deceased, Harpal Singh (58), in which it was written "no one should bow to injustice" but it bore no name or signature, police said.

Yesterday, Singh drove to a hospital from his office in in south Delhi's Sarojini Nagar and fell on th ground as soon as he stepped out of the car. Police was informed around 5.30 PM and he died during treatment, a senior police officer said.

Meanwhile, Singh's family alleged, "He was being harassed by his seniors. They sometimes used to give him work that did not even come under his purview. He had talked about resigning due to harassment but we never thought he would take such an extreme step."

The deceased's nephew said, "My uncle was due for promotion in three months. We don't know why he was being targeted. He had been in NDMC for the last 30 years."

He claimed that Harpal wrote the note at the hospital and it needs to be probed whether he drove the car himself or someone left him there in his own car.
