Cracking the whip, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) today sealed two hotels in Connaught Place in Central Delhi for failing to comply with laid down norms including defaulting on payment of license fees.
"We have sealed the Hotel Asian International and the Connaught hotel for number of violations," NDMC Chairperson Jalaj Srivastava told PTI.
The NDMC had last week disconnected water and electricity supply to the two hotels.

Srivastava said there has been a "history of violations" by the two hotels following which NDMC was forced to take the punitive action.
"The two defaulters - Hotel Asian International and The Connaught had not paid license fees dues amounting to Rs 56 crore and Rs 130 crore respectively," said another a senior NDMC official.
According to NDMC rules, the civic agency charges an annual licence fee on the properties given on lease.
"The license fees is charged where land and building is owned by NDMC. But these hotels have not been paying licence fee regularly, which has resulted in a huge loss to the agency," the official said.
While The Connaught confirmed the sealing of the hotel premises, Hotel Asian international wasn't immediately available for comment.
