The New Delhi Municipal Council today kick started a month-long camp for free screening of its 1,600 sanitation workers for cancer detection.
The camp is being organised in collaboration with Indian Cancer Society, an NGO working in the health sector.
"Cancer is a curable disease if detected at early stage. The camp is being organised so the disease can be timely detected. We will take all possible steps to improve the health conditions of the staff," Nikhil Kumar, Secretary, NDMC said at the inauguration.
