Delhiites, the New Delhi Municipal Council is setting up 33 eco-friendly gyms in the areas under its jurisdiction, which can be used for free of cost.
The equipment at the gyms will be eco-friendly and are designed for use with minimum risk, NDMC chairperson Jalaj Srivastava said.

The unique feature of the project is the creation of "acupressure walks" in parks. The acupressure walks will have a ten-meter long pebbled walkway, complete with a railing for support, especially for senior citizens.
The gyms will be set up at Central Park (Connaught Place), Sanjay Park, Talkatora Garden, Nehru Park, Charak Palika Hospital, NDMC Club, working women hostels, old age homes and other public service utility centres.
Though the location of these gyms will be NDMC areas but they will be open for everyone.
"The aim is to make residents of the NDMC area health conscious. But these gyms will be open for everyone," Srivastava said.
The gym equipment will include air walker, sit up bench, air swing, twister, set back, push and pull up chair, shoulder wheel, spinner and bench with fixed dumbbell.
The technical bids are already in and the project will be launched soon, Srivastava said.
The project will cost the NDMC about Rs 1.9 crore.
