NDTV Q4 net loss narrows Rs 77 lakh

Broadcasting major New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV) today reported narrowing of its consolidated net loss to Rs 77 lakh for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2016.

The company had reported a net loss of Rs 17.21 crore in January-March quarter a year ago, NDTV said in a BSE filing.

Consolidated total income from operations was up 3.78 per cent to Rs 169.74 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 163.55 crore in the same quarter of the last fiscal.

The company's revenue from television media and related operations during the quarter under review was Rs 169.27 crore, up 7.75 per cent in comparison with Rs 157.09 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.
 

While its retail/e-commerce was down 62.20 per cent to Rs 2.57 crore in Q4 of FY 2015-16 as against Rs 6.80 crore of the same quarter last fiscal.

For the financial year ended on March 31, 2016, NDTV's net

loss on consolidated basis increased to Rs 54.82 crore, compared with Rs 44.03 crore a year ago.

The company's consolidated total income from operations for FY 2015-16 was down 0.96 per cent to Rs 565.76 crore as against Rs 571.28 crore compared with the previous fiscal year.

"The company has decided to consider re-structuring/ demerger and separate listing of NDTV Convergence (ndtv.Com) to unlock shareholder value," the company said in a statement.

Shares of NDTV today settled at Rs 97.15 per scrip on BSE, down 0.72 per cent from previous close.
