Action has been taken on 49 complaints out of 53 concerning SAIL over the last three years, Parliament was informed today.
"During 2014, 2015 and 2016...53 complaints have been received by the government from different sources on various allegations pertaining to SAIL, out of which action on 49 has been completed," Minister of State for Steel Vishnu Deo Sai said in a written reply in Rajya Sabha.
Disciplinary action has been taken by the authority concerned based on the investigation/enquiry in the cases, the minister said.

In a separate reply, the minister said the government from time to time reviews projects of public sector undertakings, including SAIL with a view to increase their performance.
He said the parameters relating to new facilities of SAIL under modernisation and expansion plan are state-of-the art and have their own design parameter.
The ramp-up of production and capacity utilisation from new facilities have improved substantially during 2016-17 fiscal as compared to the previous year, he said.
