As many as 598 people have been arrested in a period of 11 days an average 54 a day for chain snatching, loot, robbery and auto-lifting in Gautam Buddh Nagar, according to police data.
Between 6 pm of September 10 and 6 pm of September 21, 267 such arrests were made in the city area including Noida, while 331 in the rural region including Greater Noida, showed the data, accessed by PTI.
Amid a spurt in cases of chain snatching, robbery, auto-lifting in the district adjoining national capital Delhi, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajay Pal Sharma launched concerted efforts to crackdown on the criminals, officials said.
Operation 'Black Eye' targeted chain snatchers, thieves and dacoits, while operation 'Chakravyuh' was launched to nab auto-lifters and recover stolen/robbed vehicles and operation 'X' for traffic violators, they said.
The district is divided into 22 police station areas including one dedicated women police station. Eight police stations including Sector 20, 24, 39, 49, 58, Phase 2, Phase 3 and Expressway fall under the city area.
Thirteen police stations -- Surajpur, Kasna, Knowledge Park, Greater Noida, Ecotech 1, Ecotech 3, Bisrakh, Badalpur, Dadri, Jarcha, Dankaur, Rabupura and Jewar come under the rural area.

According to the data available for a period between September 10 and September 21, "The maximum 56 arrests in the city were made by Sector 20 police station followed by Phase 2 (50), Phase 3 (43), Sector 58 (37), Expressway (25), Sector 49 (22), Sector 24 (19) and Sector 39 (15) a total 267 arrests.
"In the rural region, the maximum 57 arrests were made in Bisrakh, followed by Dadri (54), Dankaur (41), Surajpur (30), Ecotech 3 (28), Jewar (24), Greater Noida (21), Knowledge Park, Rabupura and Jarcha (each 15), Badalpur (13), Kasna (11) and Ecotech 1 (7) a total 331, the data showed.
Between September 15 and 21, a total of 140 people involved in auto-lifting were arrested and 206 vehicles recovered by the police, according to the data.
"As many as 62 people were arrested in the city that led to recovery of 113 vehicles, while 78 people were arrested in the rural area, leading to the recovery of 93 vehicles. In city, the maximum arrests and recoveries were made under Sector 20 police station limits, while Surajpur and Greater Noida dominated the rural region, it showed.
The district traffic police issued as many as 856 challans under Operation X that was conducted from September 19 till September 21.
Traffic rule violators were penalised for offences such as under 18 driving, wrong side driving, triple-riding on two-wheelers.
"A total of 410 persons were issued the challans in city area, while 446 were penalised in the rural area," the data showed.
