Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Naeem Akhtar today informed the Legislative Council that necessary steps have been taken by the state government to deal with the flood situation which has arisen due to incessant rains.
"Three control rooms have been established in North, South and Central Kashmir, besides 4 lakh sand bags have also been made available to deal with any eventuality," he said.
Akhtar said that the state government has already spoken to the NDRF and their team would soon be in the valley.

The Minister further informed the House that the water level has started receding at Sangam and rainfall has also stopped.
