A comprehensive study on various issues relating to skill development in Arunachal Pradesh will be conducted soon by the North Eastern Development and Finance Corporation Ltd (NEDFi).

The study will align with the state government's emphasis on skill development for unemployed youth, an official statement said here today.

The decision to conduct the study was made during a meeting held between the state government officials and representatives of NEDFi here yesterday.

The NEDFi chairman and managing director said that a comprehensive study on skill development encompassing all the north-eastern states is presently being undertaken by its advisory and consultancy division under the Techno Economic Development Fund.

NEDFi has completed the study in Sikkim and has decided to conduct the study in Arunachal Pradesh.

"The study's focus will be on the existing skill development scenario in the state and will formulate strategies to help employment.

The study will be a source of reference and guidance for various agencies involved in implementation of schemes and policies on skill development of the state government," the communique informed.

The skill development secretary urged that the study should bring out specific recommendations for the government to implement and avoid generic solutions.

He also suggested that the 4000 youths, who are already beneficiaries of the State Skill Initiative, will form a good source of primary data for the study.

The secretary and director of the Skill Development & Employment Generation department put forward the views of the department and requested that the study should be conducted in a realistic manner with more input of primary data based on a large sample.

Planning secretary Sonam Chombay emphasized on identifying psychology linked vocation and employable skills.
