Union minister Prakash Javadekar today stressed the need for change in the perception about bureaucracy, saying officers should give people the confidence that the government was responsive to their needs and was concerned about their problems.
"Officials need to work with compassion, conviction and with a positive mindset so as to facilitate the needs of the people. There would be complete freedom for doing the work," he said.
"It was necessary for the officers to give people the confidence that the government was responsive to their needs and was concerned about their problems," he said on the sidelines of a self-help talk by motivational speaker Shiv Khera, organised by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and attended by bureaucrats and senior officials of the ministry.
