There is a need for greater trilateral cooperation and collaboration among India, China and Nepal for their prosperity and economic development as well as establishing regional peace and stability, delegates attending a conference here said today.
Think-tanks, scholars and experts from the three countries stressed on enhancing trilateral cooperation in areas such as infrastructure development and trade and investment during the symposium organised by Nepal Institute of International and Strategic Studies.
"Nepal, India and China need to cooperate in the areas of hydropower, tourism and telecommunication so that the people of the three countries can benefit from such a cooperation," former Chinese vice minister for foreign affairs, Zhang Weichao said.

Former Indian Ambassador to Nepal K V Rajan said, "We should change our mindset in viewing regional issues as Nepal, India and China are not the same today as they were ten years ago."
"Although Nepal is sandwiched between the two Asian giants, it can benefit a lot from the economic prosperity attained by its two neighbours if appropriate policies are adopted," he said.
Speaking in the seminar, former director of ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police) Gautam Kaul said Nepal and India should cooperate in the field of energy and infrastructure so that both the countries can attain prosperity for their people.
Suggesting Nepal to explore the possibility of developing its own film industry by learning from Indian experiences, he said, Indian film industry is making huge profit and the industry has become the fourth largest foreign currency earning business in the country.
