Scientists need to evolve new techniques for the agriculture sector so that crop yields should be raised, Union Minister of State for Water Resources and River Development S L Jat said today.
They should focus on developing new techniques and crop varieties so that crops' yield be raised, and economic condition of farmers be improved, the minister said while speaking at a Yuva Mahotsav of Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agriculture University.
Minimal use of water and specialised techniques in the agriculture could give boost to economy and produce, he said.
Reiterating the Modi government's commitment to farmers, he said, every farmer who lost crop and cattle were being given compensations and relief as per the new norms issued by the calamity department in the state.
