Emphasising the need for improving study environment, Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh has written a letter to Vice Chancellors of 26 government universities asking them to ensure that academic work is done properly.

University teachers should work as per standards set by the UGC for improving the study environment, Singh said.

The Governor directed the VCs to conduct teaching and research work regularly, an official release said here today.

Regular attendance of teachers and students is necessary and students should have at least 75 per cent attendance in classes, he said in the letter.

The Governor also asked the VCs to consider introducing technology-based system for attendance of teachers.
