Need to raise awareness against dengue: Mamata

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said there was a need to raise awareness about dengue in order to tackle the menace.

"There is a need to raise awareness of dengue to tackle it," Banerjee said.

Banerjee said after coming to power the state government had increased the number of doctors and the hospital beds.

"The menace of Dengue increases if the humidity is more and especially during the rainy season. We are providing free treatment at various hospitals. But there needs to be awareness to tackle the situation," Banerjee said.

The motion on the menace of dengue was moved by Leader of Opposition Abdul Mannan and CPI(M) legislative party leader Sujan Chakraborty.
