NEERI to host global meet on household water treatment

The National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI), will host a global meet on water from November 14, according to an official release issued here today.

The meet will be organised in association with the World Health Organisation, UNICEF and The Water Institute at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the release said.

The goal of the workshop is to support countries of Asia, Africa and some other countries in addressing water quality and health through active engagement in water safety planning (WSP) and household water treatment and safe storage (HWTS) efforts.

Around 120 participants from 27 various countries will give presentations and share their knowledge and experiences.
 

The workshop will help to formulate a roadmap in India to ensure safe drinking water through household water treatment and safe storage.
