An eight-year-old girl was raped allegedly by her 24-year-old neighbour in the Ridge Road area under the cantonment police station, a police official said here today.
Cantonment police station in-charge Arvind Choube said that the incident took place on the night of August 11 when the accused identified as Rouak Kori, lured the little girl to his residence, where he allegedly raped her.
The girl informed her parents after which the matter was reported to the police, the police official said.
Based on the complaint of her father, the police registered a case of rape and arrested a youth, the police official said.
Police is further probing the incident, he added.
