A 55-year-old man allegedly sexually assaulted two minor girls in his house here after giving them spiked soft drinks, police said today.
The girls, aged 8 and 12 and both relatives and students of same school, were assaulted by Muthupalani, their neighbour on February 14, they said, adding a search was on for the man, who is absconding.
The girls were alone in their house as their parents had gone out for work when Muthupalani called them to his house and gave soft drinks laced with some durgs and sexually assaulted them after they fell unconscious.
Their parents on returning from work found the girls missing and saw them lying in a nearby area. The girls later narrated the incident, following which a police complaint was lodged.
