Nepal's Army Chief Gen Gaurav Shumsher Rana today left for India on a week-long official visit to boost military-to-military relations.

Senior officials of the Nepal Army were present at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) today to see off Rana.

General Rana is leading a five-member delegation of Nepal Army at the invitation of Indian Army Chief General Bikram Singh.

This is Rana's second official visit to India after he assumed the post of Army Chief last year.

He had visited the country in January earlier this year.

The visit will further strengthen bilateral relations between the two armies, a Nepal Army headquarters statement said.
