Nepal Army rescues 8 Chinese nationals, 25 others

Nepal Army today rescued 33 people, including eight Chinese nationals, from a remote mountainous area of the quake-hit country, 11 days after the temblor occurred.

The people, including 25 Yarshagumba (a mountain medicinal herb believed to give energy) pickers were rescued from Lamabagar area of Dolakha district by a helicopter, according to Major Rajan Dahal of Barda Bahadur Battalion of the Nepal Army.

The local villagers involved in picking the herb were stranded for the past 11 days in the remote mountainous area and the Chinese nationals are the workers of the Sino Hydro company working for constructing the Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project in the district.
