Nepal-bound passengers injured in bus mishap in Thane

At least 16 passengers travelling in a bus bound for Nepal received minor injuries when it overturned near Nagla Bunder on the Ghodbunder road here today.

Inspector D D Tale of Kasarwadavali police station said the private luxury bus was on its way to Nepal from Borivali in Mumbai. It overturned on the Ghodbunder road at about 1 pm.

The injured passengers were rushed to the Vedant and Citizen hospitals, said chief of Regional Disaster Management Cell of Thane Municipal Corporation Santosh Kadam.

There were 26 passengers in total in the bus. Inspector Tale said all the injured were treated and discharged.
 

Driver and cleaner of the Uttar Pradesh-registered bus fled from the scene after the accident.
