A French cyclist and filmmaker who has travelled 2,500 kilometres trekking trail on different occasions today said Nepal was an ideal destination for mountain bikers.

Jean Michel Jorda has travelled around the world on his bicycle on routes inaccessible by other forms of transportation.

"This has provided me an opportunity to meet people and experience their cultures from unique perspective," he said.

"Sometime the bicycle carries me and sometime I carry the 10 kg bicycle on my shoulder," he said.

He has recently travelled from Terai to the foothills of Mt Everest to share his enthusiasms and experiences with the locals.

"I have just completed my cycling from near the base-camp of Mt Kanchanjunga to the Khumbu region near the Everest base camp," said Jean.

"When I return to France I will tell travellers there to come to Nepal and see Himalayas through the unique experience of riding a bicycle," he said.
