A 20-year-old boy has been arrested by Nepal police for his alleged involvement in a brutal acid attack on two Nepalese girls here last month.
The girls, aged 15 and 16, were at a tuition centre in Basantapur area of Kathmandu when he barged into the room and splashed acid on them on February 22.
One of the victims sustained injuries on her chest and a leg, the other girl's face was disfigured in the attack.

Jiwan BK, the accused arrested by the police yesterday, premeditated the attack in revenge after one of the two girls turned down his love proposal and insulted his family.
He was arrested from his rented accommodation in the same building where one of the two victims lived.
Additional Inspector General of Police Bigyan Sharma said BK had tried to take revenge.
BK had indiscriminately splashed acid on the girl who rejected his proposal, and her friend was accidentally injured in the attack.
The boy had known the girl and was giving tuition to her. In his statement to police, BK said he had fallen in love with the girl when he tutored her.
The duo, however, had a brawl after the girl rejected his proposal.
BK had even decided to try his luck in the Indian Army last year and went to Sikkim, where he stayed for a month. He, however, was cheated by a middleman who duped him of Rs 50,000 promising him to land the job.
Angry over being cheated, BK had gone to Sikkim and even decided to pour acid on the man, police said. He was arrested when he returned to Kathmandu this month.
The police have booked him for attempted murder as Nepal does not have any specific laws to address acid attack crimes.
The government has made necessary arrangements for the two girls who are taking their secondary school examinations from the hospital they are admitted.
