Flamboyant and controversial former Nepalese crown prince Paras Shah has been admitted in a hospital in Bangkok following a heart attack. According to local Thai media reports, 42-year-old Paras was rushed to the Samitiveg Hospital last night, where his health has deteriorated. Shah, who as crown prince was unpopular for his play boy type of life style, has been staying in Bangkok for some time, though his wife Himani and other family members are in Nepal. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief of the Nepali mission in Thailand Dornath Aryal reached the hospital today morning. In September 2007 too, he was admitted to the Norvic International Hospital in Kathmandu after he suffered a mildheart attack. The former royals, including former king Gyanendra and Himani are in Bara district of Nepal to celebrate former queen Komal's birthday. Last December Paras was asked by a Phuket Court to report for a month's drug rehabilitation treatment at Bang Jo Prison in the resort town after being found guilty of possessing 3.4 gram of marijuana. But he never made it to Bang Jo complaining of chest pains the following day and went to a hospital in Phuket. Police then told him that an arrest warrant had been issued against him in Bangkok for smashing a hotel room in Sukhumvit area, causing two million baht (about USD 67,000) in damage. He was flown to Bangkok and taken to answer the charge.
