Nearly 12 kg charas was seized from a Nepalese man by the Sahastra Seema Bal in Bihar's East Champaran district today, an official said.
Acting on a tip-off, a SSB team caught one Santosh Magar, a resident of Narayan Ghat in Bharatpur district of the neighbouring country, from Raxaul area and recovered from him the contraband in 24 packets, each of which weighing around half kg, SSB Commandant Sonam Chhering said.
"Magar appeared to be under the influence of drugs and was handed over to the Raxaul police after preliminary interrogation during which we did not get much information", Chhering said.
He said that the seized charas was valued at about Rs 2.40 crore in international market.
