Sashashtra Seema Bal (SSB) today arrested a Nepali citizen along with 4.2 kg charas valued at Rs 80.40 lakh from Bihar's East Champaran district.
The SSB's 47 battalion commandant Sonam Chering said that the Nepali citizen, who was smuggling charas, has been identified as Mohammad Siraj Ahmad, a resident of Mohakot district of Nepal.
Acting on a tip-off, the team arrested Ahmad along with 4.2 kg of charas kept in 16 packets from Prem Nagar colony under Raxaul police station of the district. Ahmad was supposed to deliver the packets to a client at Sugauli railway station.
The value of seized charas is expected to be around Rs 80.40 lakh in international market, he said adding, the SSB handed over the person to local police after preliminary interrogation.
