Nepali drug smuggler sentenced to 10-yr rigorous imprisonment

A Nepalese has been sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment by a court for smuggling drugs into India.

Additional District judge Brij Lal Chaurasia yesterday held Ishwarlal Roka, a resident of Dang district in Nepal, guilty of smuggling narcotics into India.

The court also imposed a fine Rs 1 lakh on him.

Roka was arrested by SSB personnel on the Rupaiyadeeh check post on December 5, 2011 with 5.238 kg of narcotics, prosecution counsel said.
