Three Nepali citizens, working at a goldsmith shop, were found dead at their residence in Kargil district of Ladakh region in Jammu and Kashmir today, police said.
Shevaraj, Bhuwan Sunar and Sunder Sunar, were found dead in their rented room at Padum-Zanaskar in Kargil, a police spokesman said, adding that their bodies were shifted to a local health centre for postmortem.
The trio were working with Hari Sunchori, a goldsmith, in the town.

Official sources quoting preliminary investigations said the trio had apparently died of asphyxiation due to smoke inhalation as they used firewood in their room to beat the freezing night temperatures.
Kargil was the second coldest recorded place in Jammu and Kashmir with a low of minus 5.8 degrees Celsius.
