Mizoram's four authorised distributors of Maggi instant noodles were recalling the products from different retailers and outlets across the state and the recalling process was expected to be over by this week, state health department officials said.

State health department Joint Director (Food and Drugs administration) Lalsawma said that though the state government did not ban the Nestle product as done in some states, instructions of the Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) were being implemented.

Lalsawma said that Nestle's authorised distributors fully cooperated with the health department but recalling the product from remote villages took time.

He expressed the hope that the samples of Maggi instant noodles from Mizoram would be sent to the Assam Public Health Laboratory in Guwahati for testing during this week.
