Former Punjab DGP (Prisons) Shashi Kant today said he would file a writ petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court against Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for not ordering a CBI inquiry into the massive illegal drug trade unearthed by the state police.

Kant said even though the court had asked the state to conduct a CBI inquiry, Badal was unwilling to make the move, and hinted that those involved in the drug trade have links with the influential people in the state's politics.

The former officer also said he would meet Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal after he assumes charge of Delhi Chief Minister to work against the drug menace.
