Speaking at a tea party held in the legislative council on the last day of his term as the Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), Jha said that never during his stint as the MLC or the Chairman of the legislative council that he misused his position for any benfit.
The octogenarian BJP leader thanked his party and the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for giving him an opportunity to serve as the MLC and the Council Chairman despite the fact that the senior coalition partner JD (U) had more representatives in the upper house.
Jha said that he discharged his duties with full vigour despite knowing the fact that he was not selected by the party for another term as the MLA.
"I have no no regrets nor I will ever question my party for not giving me another term," an emotional legislative council chairman said.
The Deputy Chairman Salim Parvez thanked Jha for his contributions as the Chairman for over three years and said that latter will always be remembered for conduct of the legislative council centenary celebrations for one year.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi could not attend Jha's farewell function due to prior engagements.
