An innovative mobile app has been developed by the Madhya Pradesh administration using which the food left over after any function will be collected for distribution among needy people.
The app, named "Aahar", was recently launched under the 'Annadan scheme' of the government. Food left over after functions like marriages will be collected with the help of NGOs for distribution among the needy, Indore Division Commissioner Sanjay Dube said today.
Local hotels, restaurants and bakery owners have also been informed about the app so that they can use it to prevent food from getting wasted, he said.
It also has a feature with which any person can pay a certain amount for serving food the needy people, he added.
