The new book on Beastie Boys will not be a quintessential memoir, former member Michael "Mike D" Diamond has said.
Mike D was a part of the group, which was formed in 1979 and split in 2014.
The vocalist-drummer said "Beastie Boys Book" is an account of his days with fellow members Ad-Rock (Adam Horovitz) and the late MCA (Adam Yauch), which will also include a cookbook, TMZ reported.
He said it will be "unlike any other music book".
According to the website, the cooking part of the book will feature contributions from chef Roy Choi and directors Wes Anderson and Spike Jonze, and actor Amy Poehler.
"Beastie Boys Book" releases October 30.
