Money is the central theme of a new Bengali film in the making, whose release is coinciding with the cash crunch people are facing post demonetisation.

Actress-director Aparna Sen, who is the creative consultant for the movie "Rong Beronger Kori", said that the timeliness of the film was unintended but she now hopes that it connects with people.

"I agreed to be part of the film as a creative consultant for the first time as I liked the subject about the different colours of money," she said.

Sen said she had a great rapport with Ranjan Ghosh since "Iti Mrinalini" where Ranjan had helped her.

"I was really impressed with the screen play," the maker of "Mr and Mrs Iyer" and "36 Chowringhee Lane" said.

The director of the film said that it was for the first time that money assumed a separate character in a Bengali film and it's uncanny similarity with present post-demonetisation situation was a strange coincidence.

The film stars among others Rituparna Sengupta, Tollywood hero and TMC leader Soham and veteran face Kharaj Mukherjee.
