A new bio-technology laboratory to provide hands-on experience in research to school and college-goers was today inaugurated at Birla Industrial and Technological Museum (BITM) on the science museum's 58th anniversary here.
"The bio-tech lab offers facilities for understanding various tools and processes of bio-technological research and inquiry-based laboratory investigations," BITM Director Sk. Emdadul Islam told reporters.
After the inauguration, National Council of Science Museum (NCSM) Director General A S Manekar said that science activity centres like BITM played a key role in making R & D facilities available for school students.

A renovated motive power gallery, showcasing 27 exhibits related to the working mechanisms of automobiles, was also inaugurated on the occasion.
