Kanwarpal, a local resident, spotted the dead child, who had been abandoned by an unidentified woman along the drain at Thakurwada yesterday, a police spokesman said.
A case has been registered and the body sent for post mortem, he said.
Prima facie it appears that the boy was abandoned by an unidentified woman who wanted to get rid of the child, the spokesman said.
