Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), a 'Navratna' company of the Indian Railways, has funded the construction of a 'Children's Home' for the inmates of Adruta, a shelter for destitute children.
Inaugurating the facility here today, V Kalyana Rama, Chief Managing Director of CONCOR said Adruta is a model shelter centre for destitute children which looks after education and health care of the inmates with philanthropic support of corporate and individuals.
A 5,000 square feet premises has been built with the CSR grant of CONCOR which would provide accommodation to the destitute children with dormitory facilities with an activity centre, a railway release said.
Amongst others, Prof Aditya Mohanty, the mentor of Adruta, D K Samantray, Managing Director, Angul-Sukinda Railway Corporation Limited and Sri Sharad Verma of CONCOR were present on the occasion, it said.
