The Tamil Nadu government on Friday appointed Collectors and police chiefs to the five newly created districts in the state.
The government had earlier notified the creation of Kallakurichi, Tenkasi, Chengalpet, Tirupattur and Ranipet, taking the total number of districts in Tamil Nadu to 37.
On Friday, the government said it has sanctioned creation of 'temporary' posts of Collector for the districts for a period of one year with effect from the date of functioning of the districts or till the need for them cease, whichever was earlier.
Kirran Gurrala is Collector of Kallakurichi while GK Arun Sundar Thayalan is Collector for Tenkasi.
A John Louis and M P Sivanarul are Collectors of Chengalpet and Tirupattur districts respectively.

Similarly, the government announced appointing Superintendents of Police for the districts.
T Jeyachandran will head Kallakurichi while Dr P Vijayakumar will head Tirupattur.
G Suguna Singh has been appointed as SP for Tenkasi while D Kannan is district police chief of Chengalpet.
A Myilvaganan is SP, Ranipet.
