take a look at the exquisite handicrafts, handlooms and rich cultural heritage of the temple town of Bishnupur in West Bengal at an exhibition organised by the state government.
The third Bishnupur Festival was today thrown open to the public at Dilli Haat and will remain open till Sunday.
Bishnupur town in Bankura district of West Bengal is famous for its terracotta temples bearing the hallmark of unique Bengal-style brick artistry, monuments, handicrafts, colourful playing cards and intricately designed metal casting.
Special attraction of the exhibition will be the terracotta "Bankura Horse", which is the registered logo of the Central Cottage Industries Emporium.
The heritage town of Bishnupur is also synonymous with the classical music of Bishnupur gharana - regarded as one of the most distinctive styles in India.
