New global economic order needed for ensuring parity: MP

Speaking at a function held here last evening on the occasion of Kabir Jayanti, he said it was "painful" that one per cent of the world population controlled 17 per cent of the planet's natural resources.

"Developed nations are thriving at the cost of developing nations," he said.

Economic parity between the world's population could never be created under such circumstances and the remedy lies in setting a new world economic order with equitable control over natural resources, he said.
