In a first, the government has embarked on an unique initiative to train new IAS officers from various cadres through intense interaction with Union Ministers from that state.
The initiative would not only help them to understand the ground realities of the cadre they belong to but also would assist them on how best to take up centrally-sponsored schemes and programmes to the last mile in the state.
The first interaction with 2014 batch IAS officers of Bihar cadre is scheduled for tomorrow with nine Union Ministers, including Ram Vilas Paswan and Ravi Shankar Prasad, sources said.

There are about 10 new Bihar cadre officers, who are currently attached as assistant secretaries with the central government departments for three months.
Union ministers are planning to interact with young officers from each cadre in the coming days, the sources said.
In total, around 172 IAS officers from 2014 batch from 24 cadres/joint cadres are presently working as assistant secretaries at the Centre.
