The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet today gave its approval to the Mineral Manual (Khanij Niyamawali) under which the provisions of fine and punishment have been made stringent.
The Cabinet meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
"The Cabinet approved the Mineral Manual (Khanij Niyamawali). Under the new manual, provisions of fine and punishment have been made stringent. Who will pay the fine, who will be allowed to undertake mining and who will get exemption were some of aspects, which were deliberated upon," UP government sources said.
Citing the ongoing session of UP Legislative Assembly, the sources did not elaborate further about the Cabinet meeting.
They added that the Cabinet also approved a proposal to remove anomalies in salary of Law Department employees.
