The bill provides that a tenant, even after a long term, cannot have permanent rights, and has to vacate the house after the original agreement comes to an end.
President Pratibha Patil recently gave assent to the 'Madhya Pradesh Tenants Act 2010'. It was notified in the state gazette on Friday.
The bill had been passed by the state Assembly about two years ago, but it was awaiting the Presidential assent. PTI AS KRK
